Three call charge cap

We experienced our first bill shock with Three, fortunately not a lot but I had asked for the account to be capped.
On Three they apparently only offer an option of no overspend or unlimited overspend. We had been led to believe the cap was an overspend of the same amount as our monthly SIM charge (£18/month, capped at £36), however the call taker at Three said no such facility existed.
BT Mobile have configurable increments of £5 on "out of bundle" charges, which seems sensible. So it can be done...
So come on Three #makeitright, or whatever your purple muppet advert claims.

Well, to be fair to Three, most providers don't offer any form of capping at all.0

Many providers don't offer any type of cap and you only need to look at the issues around EE and Vodafone bill shock on here for examples.
The "MyTHree" site allows you to change your out of allowance cap option upto 4 times each billing month. The two settings are for spend outside your allowance at any time i.e. premium rate numbers or texts etc or spend on things that are normally in your allowance but you've used all your allowance up.
I set both to block any out of allowance spend as there are usually other options to call out of allowance numbers i.e. weQ4U etc. If I did need to spend money on a call or service I would just change the block setting whilst I used that service and then change it back.
The cost of out of allowance calls for me is 35p per min and non standard numbers even more so it would need to be an emergency for me to use these and the setup allows for this to a degree.0
