Cheapest taxi from Tenerife South to Puerto De La Cruz?

Hi guys

We fly out to Tenerife South on the 2nd March. Our hotel is in Purto De La Cruz. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on getting the cheapest taxi to the North? I know there is a local bus service that you can get, but not keen on that. Want a taxi.

Cheers :)

    €100-120 from the airport rank

Car hire from the likes of Autoriesen would probably be cheaper
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

Great, thanks. Do they give you a price there and then? Or is it whatever the meter says? Also, is there a few taxi companies? Or just the one?

There's only one company that operates the rank AFAIK

Drop them an email for a quote, otherwise it's on the meter

€117-125 to hire a car for the week, a few euros in petrol and it's still way cheaper than a taxi

If you're not comfortable driving, a taxi it is.

No point doing stressful things on holiday

We had booked our accomodation through Travel Republic and used the link on their site to book a shuttle bus transfer to Puerto de la Cruz. The agent was Jose Luis Lopez and for the two of us the cost of a return service was £58.46. It is a shared service so you drop off others en route but we were very happy with the service and for the return they sent details to our hotel the night before. Pickup for the return was very prompt and we would use them again.

Depending on arrival time at the south airport you can do the journey by bus. The number 343 will take you to the bus station in Puerto de la Cruz for 13.55 Euros per person each way, journey time would be about the same as a taxi. Suitcases go in the hold under the bus, hand luggage goes inside with you, all the drivers speak English and all the buses have air con and IMO the whole service is better than you get in the UK.
From the bus station in Puerto it will be no more than 6/7 Euros to your hotel so overall far cheaper, just as quick as a taxi

How can waiting for and getting two buses be as quick as a taxi, not to mention if the bus doesn't drop you close to the hotel.
Buses are by far the cheapest way to do it but 'just as quick as a taxi'? I think not.
