Yeh I have Halifax as my main account for the £5/month. Already gotten £100 from co-op switch, £100 from first direct leaving, tried and failed with CB, and wanted to try YB for the £150. I forced my fiance to do the CB switch to maximise our money and he got it okay but I'd so much trouble lol

I was going to try switching to HSBC but there's been so much trouble with that from reading thread on here about it, b fiance has been trying to open his account with them too with hassle.. Suppose you need to work to get this free money lol

I already had a YB current account and have not had a previous switch offer. I have switched another non YB/Clydesdale to it to get the current £150 offer as the T&Cs say you can be an existing customer, there is nothing in the T&C's to say I must open another current account with YB/Clydesdale! I am hoping this time I will get the incentive obviously also following the rest of the T&Cs minimum payment, DD etc.

Why were you unsuccessful initially? You couldn't open the account or you missed a criteria?

If the latter you can just switch a 2nd bank account to the Yorkshire account, no need to open clydesdale

They are not just part of the same group, they are the same bank. Yorkshire Bank is just a trading name of Clydesdale Bank, like Halifax is just a trading name of Bank of Scotland.

I screwed up the DDs on the first switch, only 1 went through!! This time I have 4 DD's. I'm switching an account from co-op so all should be fine this time. Will just pay in the £1000 as required.
