BT Broadband Infinity 2 Retention Deal Offered

Been in discussion with BT as I am looking at my broadband costs.
Regrettably, there isn't Virgin in my area and this will never happen.
Been with BT on Infinity 2 and whilst not committed to another provider as yet i've given them notice on the free BT Sport. They have offered me this to retain :-
12 month contract
Infinity 2 Unlimited - £17.85 per month
Line Rental £17.99 per month
BT Sport (whole package) - £2.50 per month with free HD for 6 months
BT last night said this was the best price they could give and when I mentioned this morning who I was possibly going to (Plusnet) they said they couldnt achieve the speeds I was getting on Infinity 2 which to be honest fluctuated and at times required me to reboot the router something which I only did no more than 5 times in my previous property with Virgin Media.
Any comments appreciated.

Any other ISP that uses Openreach's NGA FTTC network will be able to provide the exact same connection speed as nothing changes in the physical network between your home and the cabinet (with the exception of the router).0

The BT retention price is not a bad one for BT .
You are out of contract i presume ??
Move to Sky or PN once the transfer starts BT may come back with an offer .
Infinity 2 requiring reboots suggests a problem either internal connections router or from the cabinet . What have BT said regarding the reboots ??0 -

It's a decent offer, and having recently switched away from BT myself, best offer I got was £38 for line rental and Infinity 2. I've never used or had BT Sport, and suspect this is why your retention deal is better.0 -

That's rubbish. Switched to Plusnet's 76mbit package from Infinity 2 last week. Connection speeds at the router are the same as BT. Ping times on Plusnet are actually a few ms faster, speed tests are within 1Mbit of BT. Worst I've seen is 2mbit slower at 69.83mbit vs the 72mbit I usually got from BT however that is doing a speed test whilst my son is also gaming. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. That is a rubbish deal you've been offered Scousemanblue.
The Infinity 2 Unlimited Deal being offered is £33.49,this includes the line rental and BT Sport.I was offered this today but opted for Infinity1 Unlimited ,this also includes the line rental and BT Sport, also managed to haggle for a free BT latest Hub 6 to be included in my deal,as currently I only have the Hub 5,all for £25.99 a month for 24 months.
This works out £4.00 a month less than I've been paying and I was already on a great deal.0 -
