Easyjet Hand Luggage Query

Hi All,
I'm travelling Easyjet with a group of friends in mid March...I haven't been on one in ages. No check in luggage, we're only taking hand luggage.
I have two questions...
1. Are they strict on hand luggage size? I've heard horror stories about staff asking you to pu tthrough the measuring guage and charging high prices if your hand luggage doesn't go into the guage.
2. Do they allow electric shavers/trimmers in hand luggage? The last thing I want is for me to have to throw my shaver out at security.
Any help/advice appreciated.
PS - If anyone knows where to bu good cheap easyjet sized hand luggage bags, please let me know!
Thanks.

1. Yes, they can be strict, though it will depend on the day. Not exactly "horror stories", as with most LCCs if you don't abide by the rules, there is a price to pay. Their hand luggage allowance is generous (56x45x25cm, no weight limit as long as you can lift it into the locker), so anything larger is not really hand luggage.
They can also be strict about number of pieces. Unless you pay for upfront/extra legroom seats, or have an easyJet Plus card, you are allowed 1 piece (above dimensions). Ladies' handbags etc are not invisible/extra, they are considered a piece and would have to go inside any other piece.
2. Should not be a problem, I regularly carry an electric shaver in hand luggage on easyJet.0 -
It will depend on how full the flight is as well, if your bag is over-sized you will be charged for it to go in the hold, I have also seen on full flights that they ask for volunteers to place luggage in the hold, usually in return for speedy boarding, free coffee etc. The razor wont be an issue you may find that at security they take it out, swab it and try to turn it on.Save 12k in 2020 #19 £12,429.06/£14,0000

Straight from the horse's mouth:

Regardless of other people's experiences, if you stay within the rules laid down by the airline you're flying with you'll not have a problem.
You may also find this useful, it specifically mentions electric shavers:

If it gets checked and it is oversize then you deserve to be charged, and you're aware of those charges when you book. Easyjet has one of the most generous hand luggage allowances going.
You should always assume it will be checked, and stay within their rules. If you try to put an oversized bag in the overhead lockers it takes up room that was meant for someone elses bag. Ultimately this means people end up checking their official sized carry ons.
No problem taking electricals in your hand luggage.0 -
Yes as above, electric shavers aren't an issue. Note that Easyjet often run out of overhead locker space, seems to have happened on most flights I've been on, so if you're taking a bag which won't fit under the seat in front be aware they might require you to put it in the hold. No charge if it's within their limits, but make sure no valuables/cash/easily damaged stuff in it.
If I'm travelling alone I tend to take a small bag which will go under the seat in front, if with the familiy will have at least one bag that does with anything valuable & change of clothes for everyone.0 -

Hi Guys,
Just had a thought...the eletric shaver...
When people are saying its ok to take onto the airline, what about airport security? Is that different or the same? IE...airport security will also allow?0 -

Did you look at the link in post #4?
It specifically mentions airport security and electric shavers.0 -
Sorry I should have mentioned I did see the post to Link 4 but I just wanted reassurance that it wasn't just general guidelines and whether they can vary from airport to airport.
I couldn't find anything on the gatwick/heathrow websites relating directly to shavers. Mainly general electrical items.
If it applies, then all good
thanks all.0
