Thanks, but March isn't free wills month in Scotland. However, it should be properly done if I just take the contentious part out as it was written by a solicitor in the first place. We have no reason to think he's incompetent.

Thank you. We will be careful about the signing and witnessing.
(You would think that the information in that link could be more clearly given!). . .I did not speak out
Then they came for me

If it really seems like the solicitor put themselves down as an Executor without the testator's knowledge then you could complain to the Law Society. I guess you'd need to be completely sure that was the case before doing so. Also before doing a formal complaint, you are supposed to sort out the issue with the solicitor, so an initial step could be to complain to the solicitor first, ask them to re-write it for free without themselves as Executor.0

Thanks for responding, but we'll stick with rewriting and be done with it. It won't cost anything other than a little of my time, and thanks to the people on here I won't lose any sleep over it.. . .I did not speak out

Be very careful with punctuation when you do write a copy. Resist the temptation to insert commas and full stops where there are currently none. An errant comma in the wrong place could totally transform the meaning of that line - One reason many wills are written devoid of any punctuation.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

That is why the OP should suggest advantage of the free will. It wi Lloyd also mean the will takes account of current legislation.0
