Toilet at wrong end of house

Thinking of buying a house and I would want an ensuite on the master bedroom.

Problem is the existing toilet is at the back of the house and I would want a toilet at the front of the house.

I could bring the soil pipe down inside the house, boxed in, and then out by the front door to a new drain which could run around the front and side of the house (there would be room to do this).

Or it could go through the house between the joists, assuming the joists run the right way, but I suppose a proper size pipe 110mm would not be possible with little to no drop over the 8 - 10 metres length, so I suppose one of those saniflow with small bore.

I don't like the idea of a saniflow

Would these be my only options?

I would put it though the 1st floor outside wall and connect to the existing outside soil pipe . much easier

A Saniflow is definitely better than nothing.

If you can afford and would feel the benefit of a brand new soil connection, go for it.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • If the house has a suspended ground floor can you go under the ground floor across the house, rather than all the way round outside?

Ahh you mean out the side wall of the house then sloping down round to the back of the house at about 3 - 4m above ground level.

That could be done, but the bathroom would be at the centre of the front of the house, so yes, it could possibly be boxed in, inside the lounge, but I doubt there would be room.

Or shift the bathroom to the side of the house and rearrange the bedroom.

OK that is food for thought.

Unless you've got a mansion, surely the distance from the front to back of the house is only a few metres.
  • My parents fitted a saniflow - (other macerators are available), in thier porch, which was divided into 2 to provide a much needed downstairs bog.

The smaller pipe then went under the floor boards to be connected to the bathroom soil pipe at the back. It was cheaper and easier to do this than dig a trench around the house.

Where does your existing downpipe join the main sewer? It may be that there is already underground pipework from the existing downpipe rou d to the front of the house to join the main sewer in the road. If that is the case, you can tee into that at the front.
