Buying searches results from previous buyers

Hi,
We are now the buyers of a property that was 90% through a sale before it fell through. There is talk of the possibility of our solicitors buying the searches results from the previous buyer's solicitors...in order to save time presumably. Has anyone had any experience of this? can it be done?
Thanks.

Why ever would you do this?0

Why ever would you not, given the chance? The information doesn't change based on who requested it. So you'd get the same information, faster, and probably cheaper.0

Maybe it has changed. Hence your question...0 -
Yes as thepants has said, in our particular case it looks as if searches could be the only thing lagging behind everything else, with a slow LA involved. The previous buyers had literally just had their search results back. I just wondered if anyone had done this before..0

Then go ahead. But you'll have no indemnity....0 -

When asked if there was anything I could do to help speed things up, the estate agent mentioned the searches. The vendor has asked his solicitors if they can get them from the previous buyers and provide them to ours, I suppose I'll find out soon enough!0 -

Oh what a surprise.0 -
If you can buy the Local Land Search and it's less than 3 months old then get it done. Your lender will be happy with the same.
It is a totally normal thing to do.
The water, plan, environmental searches are optional extras and are not legally required in most cases - so if they are for sale it's up to you.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
