Which broadband package for new user

My companion has informed me that she wants to get an iPad as she has moved to a new permanent address and now wants to get herself an internet connection.
A few issues though. There hasn't been a landline in her new accommodation for at least five years so she'll have to get reconnected or a new line. The phone calls she makes are very few and far between; she is currently on a PAYG deal And has a pretty basic hand set. She is by no means tech oriented!!
When asked why she wanted to get the iPad/internet her reply was 'to go on the Internet.' The real reason, perhaps, is that she wants to use services like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
So here's my question. What does she need and what's the most economical way to go? Is there a best deal out there that would put this package together?
My thinking at the moment is go BT as she'll need to get a new line in, buy her own iPad, get a no limit, broadband package, a BT Sim only card and of course that would mean having a BT landline. It has also occurred to me that if she's after the likes of Netflix then with a BT Hub she'll find it difficult to switch regions if she decides to use the likes of Chromecast
Given the above what would your recommendation be?

If you're going to be using streaming services, then fixed line broadband is the way forward. You don't tend to get a great deal of data on mobile packages, plus top ups can be expensive. BT don't charge installation fee for phone lines at the moment if you take out broadband with them too. What do you mean switch regions? Like using alternate DNS settings for Netflix? If so, they're clamping down on that anyway.0

Regions another ???
Chromecast works via BT Hub 5.0 -
Thanks guys for the answers. Didn't know that about BT free installation if taking broadband. That's a big plus.
What do I mean by switching regions? Watching say Netflix America in UK via the likes of Getflix!.
I do appreciate that for streaming video the only way to go is landline

ps As a matter of interest is there a best place to buy an iPad or should I just take her to an Apple Store?0 -
Also remember to order through top cashback/quidco. You can get around £140 cashback.0

As stated above she will need a phone line, I'll probably advise her then to opt for a BT phone package, Unlimited BT Broadband (even though she is living very near the exchange she'll no really need fibre), and change her mobile to BT.
I'd like to check out a few other players so I can possibly negotiate a bit. Do any of the major players put landlines into houses or is that reserved to BT

Any provider, with the exception of Virgin Media, can provision or reconnect a BT-based landline for you-there is no requirement to order this from BT Retail whatsoever. Whichever provider you contract with, the work is done by BT OR regardless. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If your close to the exchange in theory you will get close to the advertised speed you go for
I live close to my exchange on bt 38 meg fibre and I pull 37.5 to the pc through the cable
Also checkout quidco or top cash back if their is a way you can get online and order through one of these sites you could get some serious cash back0
