Can I join the club?? I have received about 30 of these in total over the last 3 months, person has bnot been living here for at least 4 years as I have been here, wish these !!!!!!!!s would realise and update their databases and work on the cheap!!
Thanks0 -
They will not remove an address simply because one (or 30) of their letters are returned. Firstly, it is not unknown for the true recipient to do this to 'put them off the scent'. Only when a RM sticker stating the addressee is not there will cut the mustard.
Also, data is gold (even if it is incorrect) as it could provide clues to a subsequent 'find', which a blank address field would not.0 -
We've been getting letters through to our address with a name unknown to us on it. It is not the previous owners and or us and AFAIK we are the only two owners ever for the house and the previous owners didn't rent it out.
A quick Google of the name and the postcode shows the name is on the edited electoral roll for our postcode but as I know our house is not on the edited register, I expect they are picking numbers at random and hope they hit their target.
I just keep sending them back, I have never had any bad debt and the name is not mine or one I recognise. They have no rights regards to me so all I can do is cost them money by sending the letters back. May even be a scam as some people may just pay it to get them to go away.0 -

Would one get one of these at a Post Office ? I assume RM stands for Royal Mail ?
When I started receiving mail to someone who wasn't at my address, I had no idea how to handle the situation. I ignored the first few letters, but then I asked at the Post Office what I ought to do. The women there simply told me to return it to the sender, but did not offer a sticker ?
Ever since then, over 2 years ago, I have returned all letters back to the sender. Now a week does not pass when this other person gets more mail than me, and I am royally fed up. I am a relation of the individual they are trying to contact, but they have never lived with me, and I have absolutely no contact with them.
I live as a tenant in someone else's home, and am planning on moving house before Summer. I do not want to leave my lovely landlady with the task of returning several letters a week back to the sender, so if the way to prevent such letters is simply to ask for a sticker to pop on one of the envelopes then I would certainly love to have that confirmed.0 -
I know this is an old thread, but we have a more particular problem with this company. We moved to our address a couple of months ago and get numerous letters to the previous occupiers (we knew they were in major debt because they had to sell up or be repossessed). I've not looked at who previous letters were from, just done return to sender. But today I have come home from work to find a letter from this company in our letter box that was actually sent by recorded delivery.
Our house was empty all day, so I can only assume the postman decided to sign for the item and put it through the letter box. I have tracked it online and the signature is just the first initial of the person it is addressed to. There is no name for who signed for the letter and no time for when it was delivered.
I have submitted a complaint to Royal Mail about this (I am really angry). But what do I do with the letter - I can't just RTS because it was signed for! Do I write to them and explain what's happened and that this person no longer lives here? Or will they just take this as confirmation that he still lives here? Will we end up with debt collectors coming round?
I am so mad with RM!!!0 -
mark any letters 'return to sender'; never call them0

Send it back. It's not your debt, you're not that person and if they did send anyone around (they won't) just tell them to b****r off.0 -

My step-grandmother has just received a letter with the address above and someone who lived at my address, has received three that will be getting posted back.
I will advise her of the situation.0 -
The don't care that you are now living there, they believe that the previous tenant still lives there.0
