I thought I'd update this - we got married in February.

I wore a black Ted Baker jumpsuit that I LOVE and wear for pretty much every special occasion. OH's parents bought him a new grey suit (wedding pressie) which he can use for all manner of things.

Day started at my house. Our best friend and parents came over. Both mothers had secretly arranged flowers so we ended up with a LOT of flowers. I got ready, we popped some champers I had left over from Xmas. We married at a local registration office in a lovely town - after a couple of pints in the pub - then went to my local Thai restaurant. No one let us pay for any drinks or food so in the end the wedding cost about £500 (for the ceremony).

Absolutely no regrets, and we've since invested/saved/paid down the mortgage to the tune of about £20k so now that money is working for us and our future :)

Wow that sounds like a lovely day.

I love the thought of small inexspensive and simple.

I’m hoping to have a super small wedding and a register office and then hire a village hall with kitchen and do our own buffet a seperate day to celebrate.

    Stashbuster - 2014 98/100 - 2015 175/200 - 2016 501 / 500 2017 - 200 / 500 2018 3 / 500

Just goes to show you can have a fab wedding day without the mega-money price tag. :T

How lovely to read that someone is finally seeing sense and doing a wedding on a proper budget and using their savings towards the home - well done.
