My five-week challenge

Well, I didn't do much on my challenge last week, incredibly busy at work. Saturday I did some cooking and preparing for a picnic and yesterday I was at Murrayfield! The match was fantastic, the fans wonderful and my friend Karen and I were Scots for a day! As you may have gathered, Scotland won 29-18, thank you Scotland. It was a long, happy day, I've never driven 400 miles in one day before, but with our picnic basket and 12v fridge in the back of the car, our rest stops were very MSE even though we dined on poached salmon (half price at Booths) and creme fraiche rolls with chicken satay skewers and sweet chilli dipping sauce. For dessert we had organic brownies (half price) and fruit, and my co-pilot enjoyed a glass of white wine to wash it down while I preferred good old H20.
As One, as the programme states, once again, thank you Scotland.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

PS, the chilli was great! And the crock of the new slow cooker fits in the fridge where the old one didn't.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

That's the problem I have with the crock dish from my slow cooker. It a large one, and I have to remove a shelf. I batch cook with it so much, so I couldn't get a smaller one.
What are you up to this week lisa110rry? You have accomplished so much already! :TLiving a frugal retirement without treading on the planet :T

Normally, the slow cooker crock wouldn't go in the fridge FunBrum, the food would be portioned into the freezer, but with just me here at present and trying to de-food the freezer for defrosting, it seemed the thing to do. Had the second portion of chilli for tea yesterday, it was even better, as these things often are.
Today I'm off work so the library de-cluttering and re-shelving continues. There's a small local study group that wants to come and view it when my husband is back at the helm and that just wouldn't be possible at present with books and papers all over the floor.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

lisa110rry I was there too, right up in the rafters South stand. What a fantastic match (I took a flask which i drank before going in as flasks not allowed but mse habits prevent me buying any drink in the stadium unless they come with a free ginger grouse hat and photo :rotfl:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Just the best, DundeeDoll! We had super seats, west stand block 26, row DD, and to keep it MSE, they were given to me, free, by my boss! That stadium was sold out, 67,000 people, and yet two seats beside us were empty (not in my boss's allocation). By the prices on our tickets, that means someone gave up £160 worth of tickets, mad. My non-rugby date for the day was surprised that all the fans meshed in together. She also enjoyed the day.
We surely didn't buy food or drink in the stadium either, but I could really have used a bottle of water, which we left in the car in accordance with the rules on not bringing drink in.
Thanking my boss yesterday for his largesse, he mentioned getting a box at Twickenham, but last weekend I know where I preferred being! The best international I've ever been to, I think.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

And another one's gone, and another one's gone, another one bites the dust!
I've sorted the library! All those hundreds of books to move along the shelves to allow everything to be shelved properly! Now almost every shelf has a little 'wiggle room' built in, it's fab!
When King of the Library returns from his Dubai jaunt, we're (that's to say I'm) planning to move a little filing cabinet in to the library for the Dissertations; that will get them off the floor where they're tucked under the bookshelves at present.
The floor is otherwise clear, hurrah!:T“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Serves me bloomin' right for being so pleased with myself for getting my jobs done. Last night I did that thing one worries about a little when not accustomed to being in the house alone. I walked upstairs to bed, no lights as I've lived here 29 years, and fell over a box I left on the landing, flat on my face. Thought I might have a black eye this morning but thankfully, all's well.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Not done much this week, been very busy at work, though did liberate some pea and ham soup and some sausages from the freezer. On target to defrost next weekend. I worked yesterday and today (not the whole day but a total of 8 hours) so hoping to get Thursday off in lieu. Just about to do the evening walk with little dog and a friend and her dear little American Cocker. Lovely evening here.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

This is the final week, still a few things to do, but I'm on track with a four and a hang day weekend coming up (workload means I need to be in the office tomorrow morning).
Thanks everyone for your support so far.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
