Thank you all for your good wishes, have to confess as the hour approaches I'm feeling a little anxious for some reason (not about the pantry and freezer but about his trip).
I'm sure the trip & your time will be fine.0 -
Lol, Pollycat, I'm always asked if I would like a drink at the hairdresser's, white wine is one of the options! However, I don't like Chardonnay, so I'll bring a glassful in a thermos from home!
edited to add: I've just phoned Motability to check that I may drive his car a couple of times each week (they said yes and noted the dates). On a previous trip with a previous car, I didn't, and when he came home everything had shut down and it was keyless entry. We had to get the breakdown wagon out!“And all shall be well. I didn't know about that exhibition at the Lady Lever Gallery. It's not too far from me. I wonder if I can make it.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I live almost at Preston pollypenny, we could have a mini MSE meeting if you decided to go in the afternoon on Sunday. No pressure though. I saw a similar exhibition in Melbourne at Christmas 2013, it was lovely.
Anyhoooo... The challenge begins, I've just seen him off on his big adventure, having first switched off data roaming on his phone and showed him how to retrieve his boarding pass from Passbook, and given him a printed copy, just in case. Have a lovely time (waves into the sky)!
Tonight it will just be beans on toast from the pantry as I had a large salad for lunch. Will get more adventurous with the freezer tomorrow, have taken some chilli out to defrost. Seems K bought some ready meals recently!
So funny, K has left me with stacks of everything, almost the last thing he said was 'there are plenty of dishwasher tablets', lol!
I also have instructions to purchase a certain floral arrangement by website around the end of Feb for K's Mum for Mother's Day, he thinks of everything. I might have forgotten as my Mum is no longer with us.
The only thing I foresee a slight difficulty with is getting enough newspapers for when I switch off the freezer, I get my news on line, and K won't be buying them! Perhaps I'll press the stack of dog towels by the door into use... Might have enough free papers by then though.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. If you finish ahead of time and have enjoyed the de-cluttering, I can find you some work here!
Shall I pre-order a skip?0 -
Sounds like a brilliant plan.I was almost jealous for a min there, til, I realised I always have the house to myself, so I have no excuse"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

do you have a paper recycle collection? if so go bin diving for others' newspapers. that's what we did when house training puppies.
i only have a small freezer now (3 drawers in a fridge-freezer) but dreadful at shoving bits in thinking 'i'll remember what that is' so quite often we have ufos for tea 'unidentified frying objects' :rotfl:MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

I know some will think me mad, but I LOVE tidying and sorting cupboards/drawers and have done since I was a child (Mum says as a toddler I told her off for not putting my knickers in the drawer "properly"- what a brat).
My ideal job would be some sort of archivist where I'd spend the day sorting items, labelling them neatly, putting them in a special order and then listing what I'd done. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -

Quite agree, OVJ!
Let's see now, what did I de-clutter yesterday? Not much, but it was day -1 with the real challenge starting today.
However I did de-clutter the following:
1 husband:rotfl:
1 suitcase containing various warm weather clothing
1 picnic sized pork pie (didn't fancy the beans on toast in the end)
1 pot of face moisturiser
Husband has arrived at his destination safely, I'm pleased to say!“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
