Help me I'm really stupid.

Here's the problem. My g/f has bought a new car (Clio) with a cd player in it. So I've tried burning some cd's on my computer so she can listen to them in her car. However they do not work. Can someone tell me what, if anything, I'm doing wrong? The software I use to burn cd's is the one that came with my Creative Zen Micro mp3 player. Mnay thanks in advance.

Just a thought but are you using special audio cd's or just bog standard cd's?

My car player will not play music recorded on to anything but the specials even though the player in the house plays anything.
  • I'm using bog standard Tesco cd-r's. Are audio cd's easy to get?

try varying the brand of blank cd you are using, sometimes car cd players can be particularly fussy. is the CD player a very recent one?

If that doesnt work, you can get a brand new cd player for around £70 fitted, even at halfrauds.

  • if you're using the software you got with the MP3 player then it sounds like you're buring MP3's the a CD and the car stereo has a CD player and not an MP3 player.

Rather than use the software from the MP3 player use Windows Media Player to burn them to CD. This will convert them back to CD format instead of MP3 / WMA
  • Are you burning audio CDs or mp3 CDs? Does the player play mp3 CDs?
  • couple of seconds too late there Mr Englishman :p
