Shower etiquette at the swimming pool

When then DOES it become inappropriate?
IMHO, when they are old enough to dress and undress themselves.0 -
The private gym I used to be a member of has now been updated and has adult only areas (within separate male and female changing rooms) and more private cubicles, so I guess their research thought it was worth the money spent. Unfortunately public baths can't afford it so much.
It seems modesty is becoming fashionable again.Never again will the wolf get so close to my door :eek:0 -
Taking this discussion a little further, I am also not keen on the trend towards 'communal' toilets either, such as they tend to have in some European countries.
Instead of separate male and female toilets, you enter a door to find a room with a bank of say, three or four cubicles, for use by either sex, and a bank of washbasins. I'm already sensitive about 'noises' produced when one goes to the loo, without having to worry about men being in the adjacent cubicles. Then, I may want to adjust my dress after washing my hands, or adjust makeup or check my teeth for bits of food etc., and really don't want to do this in front of strange men.
Call me repressed if you like, but it makes me feel very uncomfortable indeed.
I think communal toilets are very sensible - it's a waste of space to have separate facilities when you're just talking about cubicles with doors.
I can appreciate that some may feel different if urinals are involved but cubicles only, why worry?0 -

It would make me very uncomfortable.
Could you clarify, are you thinking that the other adults, like you, would be uncomfortable, or that the child would be?
Personally, I 'm not bothered by little kids but would prefer not to be eyed curiously by hulking 10 year old lads when I'm stripping off.0 -

I'm saying that I personally would be uncomfortable with both being seen by and seeing others.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Me too especially when you see buildings like theatres which have the same space allocated for both sexes (because architects like balance) and queues out the door for the ladies...0 -
Disagree with that 'cause I'm a bloke. I like having 0 queue for the loos. Let the ladies in and I'll have to queue!Hello There. :beer:0

So it isn't a question of child welfare for you, which it seems to be for other people?0 -

The welfare of any children is down to the adult looking after them. It does seem s range to me that you would take your child to a place with naked adults but as a non parent I don't think its for me to sayLost my soulmate so life is empty.

Why? We were born naked. Adam and Eve were naked (I note you're a Christian).
What harm will it do the child to see a naked adult?
I think you'd do a lot MORE harm if you made the human body taboo and "bad" to a child. They'll no doubt be the tween or teen with huge body confidence issues because they have no idea what is normal and (perhaps) don't feel they can talk to their parents about it.
I don't propose it sensible to actively ENCOURAGE nudism but in a setting where brief flashes whilst getting changed could occur, honestly, I can't see how this isn't normal and healthy in anyone's eyes. MAking a big deal of it is the only thing that makes any of this inappropriate.
Or are you actually suggesting the harm is in an adult seeing a naked child?
Are you suggesting there's some sexual thing here? Because that's a pretty disappointing view of the average man you have if so.Hello There. :beer:0
