o2 contract/upgrade

Hello All,

I took out a 24 month contract with o2 which came with phone that you paid for seperately. Contract is up in October 2016.

I have paid off the phone part already after making an overpayment and this now means I can upgrade.

Anyone know if I can upgrade to the monthly sim only deal? I basically want to leave O2 but this may give me a way out before the October date.

Separately

As soon as you paid the phone part off you can terminate the airtime contract without fees, i.e. you can either change your sim-only plan with O2 or leave to another provider.

I have another phone line with 02 - do you know if they would transfer this number to the other line?

AFAIK, O2 is the only network that does such transfers.

However, what sort of 'line' is it? Is it not easier to cancel that number and to change the number you want to keep to the plan you want?

They are both normal mobile phone lines.

1) Line 1 contract is up but is the number I use
2) Line 2 contract has 16 months to go
