    Hi SuzieQ,

Aw, bless you. What a situation to have to face. Much credit and respect to you for asking for advice before going in with all guns blazing.

Suicidal thoughts and questions should always be taken seriously, and never dismissed as "curiosity" or "interest".

Please get yourself over to http://www.mind.org.uk/ where you can find free advice and information, without which I would not be alive today.

Please don't tell his friends or family. Only he can do this if he wishes (unless in extremis).

Very best wishes to you. xxx,

Sorry to bump this up but I just wanted to thank everyone who replied and give an update. I was very anxious to bring up the subject yesterday and I kept kicking myself about it for being so cowardly, the only thing I kept doing was giving him extra cuddles and I did ask him how he was over lunch but I think he took this as a general question because he just said he was fine and on top if feeling very nervous I didn't know how he'd feel about me bringing up such a serious topic in the cafe. This morning he told me that he'd been feeling a bit depressed and was thinjing of seeking professional help through work, I took the great advice I got here and listened and advised him as well as i could hopefully helped him a bit.

Thank you all. Now that heshe expressed this to me it will be much easier for me to check up on him regularly regarding the situation that's got him feeling this way
    Don't sweat the small stuff
  • You have absolutely nothing to apologise for Susie. These forum threads exist because people find themselves in situations like yours and need words of experienced advice and reassurance.

You have done - and are doing - brilliantly with your SO; supportive without being forceful or patronising. Bit of a cliche but take each day as it comes. And know that you can always ask for advice, courage or support on here. All the best. xx

How are things going SusieQ? Are you ok? Thinking of you and your SO, and hoping that you are both alright. xx
