  • I still occasionally use my Sony CD Walkman (bought in ~2001) to listen to CDs rather than rip them mp3s. I've just bought a new Android tablet that's going to become my go-to 'walkman'

Anyhoo.. this one seems to get a decent write up - http://www.amazon.co.uk/AEG-CDP4212BK-Portable-CD-Player/dp/B001F0QBD4

I think you'll find the battery life, listening to music, much better (and far cheaper to use) on most modern phones rather than a device with a motor which reads optical discs.

My Sony phone is 130 hours music listening between charges, doing nothing else.

Even when I use all its smartphone features plus listen to music 4 to 5 hours a day, it still needs recharging only every 2nd or 3rd day.
I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.
