Wallpaper sold at the wrong price

A couple of days ago I went down to my local B&M store as they were selling off wallpaper for £1 a roll. I bought a roll along with a trolly full of items and went home and opened the roll to have a look at it.
I then checked the receipt that night to find out I had been charged £11.99 for the roll, I took it back the next day to be told that because it was opened that they could do nothing with it! I thought that under the Consumer Rights Act I'd be covered for "not as described"?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes I said to the manager that I still wanted to keep the roll and just wanted my money back or a gift receipt for the overcharge. She said there was no proof the roll was £1 and I asked her to check the CCTV showing me picking up a roll from the £1 section but refused!0 -
if they sell paper for £11.99 (and are saying this was the correct price) is there a chance that the roll had been put in the £1 section in error? (another customer was having a look and put it back in the wrong place).. if this is the case and it was in the section for £1, they do not need to sell you it for £1. The correct price would apply0

It's possible that someone picked the roll up from elsewhere in the store, where it was marked at full price, and dumped it in the £1 bin.0 -
Thanks all for the response. There was only one roll left of that type in the sale so we went back to look at the rest of the wallpaper to see if we could get another couple of rolls to match it, which we couldn't see marked at the £11.99 price. We decided we would go home and buy a a couple more rolls on eBay.
I wouldn't mind paying that price it's just the principle of it being mis-sold and my treatment in store that I am disappointed of!0 -

Perhaps try head office and see if they'll do a goodwill gesture in the circumstances? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

I've sent an email to their customer services and will see when they get back to me!0 -
Good luck with that. Their customer service is cut price like their shop.
A bit like ikea but without the charm.0 -

It seems like you've not established if it actually was reduced. If you buy on eBay it's likely to be a different batch .
It's likely not to match0 -
