It states i wont be charged 6 months after opening account as well as if i hold another service with FD(Home or car insurance or a savings account) and i'll have a savings account with them
Just realised that it isn't covered by the regular savings so i'll open a savings account as well then

    This is hard work!

In summary (actually, in full detail!)...

Yes, but I wouldn't wait to open the savings account...do it now and stick a quid in. Otherwise chances are you'll forget, and the first you'll know is when you're billed a tenner in September.

EDIT: The time to open the savings account (not the regular saver) was during the 1st account application itself...one of the first questions asked I believe?

However, it appears you didn't read the T&Cs before applying so didn't realise how useful it would be.

i'm kidding that's my plan exactly.
    Thanks again

Lucky I haven't applied for it yet then. I'm currently waiting for the donor account to be sorted out before i'll apply.

I (incorrectly as it turns out) read post #10 as referring to the FD account, not the HSBC account, ie you'd been applying at the same time as posting on here.

EDIT: You know you don't need DDs (or, indeed, anything else) on the donor account? So don't waste your time there. Personally, I stick a couple of SOs and a bill payment or two on mine for some 'authenticity', but you may wish not to bother.
