E-on Tariff Change
I applied to switch from Eon v19 to EHL Eon Collective and have received e-mails to say my switch had gone through from Eon
My on line account now shows that I am on the collective tariff with a start date of 15/02 the date I applied.
However my question is how will Eon correctly know my meter reading to start the new tariff.
I sent a meter reading on 10/2 as a quarterly bill was due, but they have not had a reading since then. With hindsight I should have sent a reading on 15/02when I applied to switch, but I thoughtEon would contact me for a meter reading before they switched tariffs.
I have now sent them the current meter reading, but I can not see how they can reliablely arrive at a accurate figure for the switch date.
Any suggestions?

They will estimate, it will most likely be pretty close and not enough to worry about.0

Years ago, I used to switch FixOnline tariffs within E.On every few months, and diligently submitted readings every time I switched. I don't think they care. Typically, they just used an estimated reading. Close enough.
On the other hand, Scottish Power generates a statement every time I submit a set of readings, which is too often as far as I'm concerned. I just want to have a record of usage.0 -
I've switched tariff several times with EON over the past 15 months - the estimated switchover readings have been within a few units of my "actual"readings on every occasion.0

I'm currently making the same switch (from v19 to EHL Collective). Switch application confirmation was received from EHL on Thursday, so does anyone know typically how long it might take to complete the process please?
Nothing is registering as changed yet in my E.On online account. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
My switch from one EON deal to the EHL British Collective deal last March was completed in 8 days according to email from EON BUT EON backdated the new tariff to the date I got the original email from the Great British Collective. :T
I got a final email from EHL confirming that the switch had completed about two weeks after.0 -

I completed the switch application on line 15/Feb. Via EHL, details of my new tariff showed on my account screen with Eon on 19 Feb.0 -

Good morning FOREVER21,
molerat is correct, we'd estimated a read for the date of the change of tariff, unless we had an accurate read then we'd use that.
If you did have any reads for the particular day, we'd be more than happy to change the estimated read for you.
If it was way out, we could use an accurate up to date read to re-estimate.
Thank you

Morning macman,
It should switch over pretty quickly, about 10 days for the tariff to switch completely over.
So if you could log in to your online account after about the 10 days, everything should be showing

Do you incur the penalties for switching from v19 to the EHL collective? My switch to v19 completes in a couple of days.0

Good morning ToomanyPies,
No, the exit fees don't apply when you change from one E.ON tariff to another, even if you do it through a collective.
Hope this helps
