Incompetent Sony repair centre
I sent my Sony Xperia phone in for a quote to have the surround frame repaired. I was told it’s not possible to repair just the frame as the frame and the display comes as one piece, so I have to have the display replaced as well. I have to agreed to this as I have no choice, because I wanted my phone to look perfect. The frame may be a little out of place but it never had any effect on any functionality of the phone itself.
However when I have my phone back from repair, one of the sim slots is not working as it should. I subsequently ring the repair help line and was told to send it back for analysis. So I did as instructed and when I got it back again from the repair centre, it was in a worse state than I when sent it. Sony engineer left the cover open, and cards underneath both the sim slots were sticking out. So unprofessional.
I rang the repair help line to be told they do not know how to repair my phone as they never come across a dual sim phone before. It seemed strange that if the engineers did not know how to repair to the phone, why they didn't just return it to me untouched. It's obvious on opening the phone that it is a dual sim model. So if this isn't part of their training, then they shouldn't really attempt a repair. Now I have a phone with just one Sim slot working! Unless Sony!
As a customer with a Sony Xperia phone, I would expect the level of service and expertise from Sony Xperia to be helpful in fixing any problems. Especially as I was asked to, and was prepared to pay for the repair that was needed. Yet, I was told by Sony team that my Sony Xperia is a 'foreign phone' so the Sony Xperia engineers don't know how to fix it - but only after they made a poor job of it. I was then asked to send my phone back again which I did.
I got my phone back again after more than a week later, I turned it on, it’s still the same. Again I ring the repair help line but I was told nothing they could do, they have tested it and happy with it. The issue is that although Sony repair engineer made my phone look perfect again from the outside, they have broken the sim slot while doing it. My phone now looks good, but doesn't work yet before I sent it in, it worked perfectly, but didn't look right. And to top it off, I've had to pay a bill for this too.
After more phone call to Sony and they are so unhelpful and so rude. They broke my phone and now say they don’t know what’s wrong with it. They have no ideas! So incompetent! I just have enough of it. I’ve been buying Sony products for over 40 years and now just NOMORE!
Does anyone have the same problems with Sony or any other global companies? How could a global company only guarantee their products locally? Nowadays people travel the world all over and it’s so pathetic these evil companies, they hide all their profits in some tax heaven as one but never treat warranty as one?
