Flight insurance - what do I do?

We have a trip planned for end of March to Uganda. We have travel insurance covering medical, personal loss etc etc, but this country has recently experienced some unrest. Is there a cover we could add in the unfortunate event that we had to cancel or defer our trip?

Cancellation under an insurance policy normally requires an FCO warning against travel, if the advice doesn't change, I don't think any will pay out for disinclination to travel. The problems are related to the Presidential elections yesterday, best to avoid any African country at the time of elections, I would hope that matters will have settled down in the next 6 weeks, but that may depend on who is announced as President, and that may not be the same as who was voted President!
