I want to send them the email below - does anyone know what it is?
I have decided I don't want to send a letter as I dont want them knowing my current address, as I'm guessing they will ignore me and harass me with threats instead, but I gotta give them the benefit at first.
If the "closed date" is correct then it only had a year to run before it falls off my history so I suppose I'm not that bothered (how do you get Callcredit to list the account as closed?) I'm wondering whether to offer (after they have decided I do owe the money - my faith in banks is not high can you tell!) about £150 to close the account and remove the defaults. Id pay for this especially if I have to live with this for another 6 yrs!
Advice on sorting this welcome x

Dear Santander,
I have recently started looking into applying for a mortgage, despite never having an issue with credit in the past, I have encountered a problem with mortgages.
I have looked into my credit history to discover that you are reporting an account as “defaulted”.
I am unaware of any account being held, or in the past even opened with you, so I am very shocked to find this.
My credit report lists the following details:
Mrs Elizabeth J Earle
Account Address: xx***xx
Account Opened: 10 May 2006
Account Number: xx***xx
Current Balance: £391
Equifax listed the account closed on the 4 May 2011, however it seems that Callcredit is still reporting the account as defaulted each month. Although I’m unaware if the account is “Live” or “Closed” with them. Im assuming as they still reporting, they still have the account as “Live”.
I am unaware of how to proceed so I would appreciate your advice on how to get this closed down and the defaults removed from my credit file.
I do not recognise ownership of this account and I dispute the outstanding amount owed.
I await your response within 14 days of the date of this email.
Gratefully

Not sure I fully understand your email but leaving that to one side:
- Santander UK didn't exist when the account was opened in 2006, so your account must be from one of the predecessor organisations, i.e. Alliance & Leicester, B&B, Abbey.
- No bank will discuss any account with anyone by email.
- If you have a query/complaint about your credit file, you should use the complaints procedure of the credit reference agency.

Is this perhaps the Alliance and Leicester account you were asking about in 2013? If so, what happened after you posted about trying to pay it off then?0
