Red Route Fine- TfL

What part of "there were no buses in the vicinity" is so hard to understand?
A few red routed bus lanes in London, motorcycles are allowed to use.
Every night on my way home I encounter a driver who has decided to stop or sometimes swerve to stop in the bus lane because they can't see a bus coming.
I hope that every one of those drivers are fined and I'm glad the OP has been, even if he can't see who he has held up, he may have stopped a taxi or cycle.0 -

This was not one of them. I am also a motorcyclist, as it happens.I hope that every one of those drivers are fined and I'm glad the OP has been, even if he can't see who he has held up, he may have stopped a taxi or cycle.
I am the OP:rolleyes:, and I didn't hold up anybody. I am perfectly capable of using my mirrors, and I am telling you for a definite fact that nobody was inconvenienced. I'm pretty sure I've made that clear already, so I'm utterly bemused by all this fanciful speculation about whether I have caused any traffic disruption- I've pretty unequivocally stated that I have not.anewman wrote:When you're stopped, and a bus is hurtling along at 40mph, the bus is going to go from not visible, to visible and you being in it's way pretty quickly.
This being London, the speed limit is 30mph. As I had line of sight about 100m down the bus lane before I parked up, a bus would have taken at least 7.5s to have come up beind me. The point is moot anyway, because I looked in my mirrors prior to pulling away and there were no vehicles behind me.
Again, this is pointless speculation, and you have clearly ignored what I have already written. If you want to voice the opinion that I deserve to be punished simply because I have broken the rules, then fair enough. Suggesting that I may have inconvenienced others when I have specifically stated that I have not, it seems to me, is to suggest that I am either blind or a liar. Which I very strongly take exception to.0 -
Its either right or wrong and you are wrong.
If you are saying there was no harm done then where do you draw the line? It cannot be defined. Therefore you have to pay up.0 -
I hope he has paid it, he was fined 3 years ago0
