HSBC advance and new insurance aspects. Advice please

Hi guys.
I believe that I was mis sold an HSBC advance account back in 2010. This account stopped in 2014 I think. And now I am paying for hsbc 's 'insurance aspects'.
I am looking to put a claim in for the advance. However, I recently booked some flights for a city break at the end of March (£280 but with £100 excess on policy). I did not take additional travel insurance out at the time. I have now broken my leg, and am looking at reclaiming this on my insurance aspects.
My question is, does anybody think that I can make a this insurance claim, and try to get my money back on the mis sold hsbc advance product?
Hope this makes sense.
Thank you in advance.

Whilst the rules allow you to do that, the system is quite logical in how it deals with consumers attempting to defraud them as you are (harsh but true based on how you have written it).
The cost of any claim paid out can be taken off the cost of any redress payable should your complaint be successful.
Also, if you have been found to register features offered on the plan or used any of the benefits, they can usually reject your complaint as it shows you were aware and did use them. Alternatively, they can uphold the complaint but offset the cost of providing that benefit on the one(s) you did use.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi. Thanks for reply. It may have been written wrong. But basically, my advance account ceased, and I am now on insurance aspects. I am unaware if these were different products (the advance being mis sold, but the insurance aspects being a different product that could not be claimed).
If they are both products that can be reclaimed (as I never asked for insurance aspects) and I could get refund on both, then I would not be seeking to use the travel insurance.
