taking off a fire door..quick replys if poss please!

we have just had a man round r.e fitting our new carpets and he has noticed that the doors are right to the base of the floor so they cant fit any carpet/laminate underneath! question is as they are fire doors how hard is it to take off as there is the chain that flexes when you open and shut them..thanks.

:-) Um out of interest I happened to do this ;ast weekend when moving to a new flat but I didnt retain the chain .... any idea how I refit it now ? Obviousely the door has been refitted but the chain close is not attached to the frame.

And to the OP, expect a heavey job moving the door.

If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
