Sistercas having a toe removed sounds extremely unpleasant - but hopefully she'll be a lot more comfortable once she's properly recovered.

Hester That's terrible - surely there must be some sort of redress as she's paid up so much rent?

Folks, thank you to all who posted helpful comments yesterday - I can now tell you that after we had a l-o-n-g chat last night, complete with me pulling up all my accounts spreadsheets on the computer, Mr LW told his boss this morning that he'd like to retire.
Long story short, with annual leave entitlements and some "good will" thrown in, it looks like his last day of service will be 11th March. :T:T:T:T:T

  • Oh LW that is good news!

Hope you have many happy times together. It is soo nice to please yourselves, have nice trips out, and lie ins. I didn't miss deadlines one bit!

    Enjoy!

Hester really hope that there is something DD can do about this, surely if she's paid six months rental in advance already that constitutes a contract and the landlord has broken it?

LW whoop, whoop, that is fantastic news for you both, what a weight it must be off his shoulders and coming up to Ostara what a perfect time to make such a significant change in your lives x

Hester - there are some really good and knowledgeable people over in the house renting and selling board who will, I'm sure, be more than happy to offer some great advice. Perhaps a post there will come up trumps though, of course, it's too late to get into the house now but she may have some legal redress.

Lamewolf - I'm so please for you and your hubby! Such good news. You'll both have a much better life for it, and spring is coming up so you can both make maximum pleasure from it.

Still pouring down here. Miserable but hope for the weekend.
  • Hi all
The letting agency are playing holy hell with the landlord and DD has threatened legal action, we'll just have to wait and see, but it is so stressful.
LW, great news, hubby & I would both love to retire, only £45.750 to go, lol.

  • Hester, I am gutted for your daughter, I really hope that something good comes out of all this. I would take the LL to court, he really is the pits. Fingers crossed for you all.

Mrs LW so glad your husband has decided to retire, its time you had some time together, we just do not know whats ahead of us in this life, believe me I know.

That's shocking HH, your poor DD. If I lived closer I would have them to stay here till it's all sorted out (well, maybe just for a couple of days, that's a lot of children!).

LW - Good news! I hope you will have a lovely, long and happy retirement.

Housework done, big white wash on the airer, tea eaten and I'm off to have a bath and Friday night chill. Have a good weekend.
