Morning all,
Bright and cold here at the mo - I,m in bed with a coffee and 3 out of the 4 cats
I,m writing out a meal plan for next month - looking a the past 2 months plan, it,s boring, so I need to inject some more exciting food ideas
Date night tonight - no leaping from wardrobes this weekend, as DH has to work both Sat and Sun, not all day, but he hasn't had a day off for 3 weeks - the joy of being self employed.... Not.
Might do some baking today - Victoria sponge, to use up some eggs.
Best get up and get on - need to phone MIL to see how her dentist appointment went yesterday - she,s not happy with me as I couldn't,t take her as I had a delivery booked to come between 1 and 4, and her appointment was 12:30 and she couldn't (wouldn't) understand why I wouldn,t take her - any other time it would have been fine, but I can,t teleport between venues - bless her X
Take care all XNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Morning all
It's a beautiful sunny morning and a very hard frost , luckily I don't need to go out until later
Need to give the house a tidy and Hoover , dd1 and her bf are coming up for the weekend , I'm so looking forward to seeing them
Dd2 is at work today
Dmum had her operation on wed to remove a toe which was causing her pain and stopping her from walking properly . She has come round a treat and seems fine , no pain or anything so hopefully things will improve for her now
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx0 -
Morning all,
hard frost here this morning but its warming up now and is bright and sunny. I am presuming its still cold though as i havent set foot outside the door yet.
Only woke once in the night. I really hate my bladder at times (but i'd be lost without it).
Up bright and early (for me anyway). Household chores downstairs completed in record time. Just upstairs to do now and that wont take long. No bad dreams, just blissful sleep and i'm happy today.
The men will be home tonight and the house will be manic again.:rotfl:
Tru, whats a makeshift skirt? A belt?
Onwards and forwards,

Well, courier has just been with my delivery (surprise surprise) so I'm free to wander round. Actually I was upstairs doing the vacuuming and when I came down there was the box in the hall - it's a rural trait apparently. As doors tend to be left unlocked and couriers know everyone, and we know them, parcels just appear as they open the door and leave things. I'm on the fence about whether I like or not!
Builder boss dropped by too to inspect the final work so he's happy with it now. After a couple of false starts I think it''s sorted now.
Now to tackle the downstairs. It's so wet outside and looks to persist that any thoughts of going out are well and truly scuppered now.
I believe the south of the country is basking in sunlight - jealous here.0 -
Good morning all,
A lovely morning here, a hard frost first thing but now the sun is out.
Popped into town and dropped DGD1 off at work. Went into Boots for my hair colour, and Himself wanted to spend some of his birthday money so we went into M&S. He saw some trousers he wanted but not in his size, so when we came home I ordered them on line. We can pick them up tomorrow, how is that for service.
On the 10th February I ordered 2 pairs of shoes from E*ans and was told not to go into the store until I received an email. Up to yesterday I hadn't received said email so I sent them one, stating surely it can't take this long to deliver 2 pairs of shoes to the store. Received 2 emails this morning, 1 stating they would be dispatched tomorrow, and 1 have just received another saying they are now in store, this came after we came back from town:eek::eek:.
M&S are very good with delivery, as are Debenhams, but I am very disappointed with E*ans.
We are off for a carvery tomorrow evening with DD1 and 3 DGC to celebrate 2 birthdays, so looking forward to that.
We went for our repeat blood tests yesterday, so now waiting for a call from the surgery, hopefully something and nothing.
We are both doing well on the 8 week blood sugar diet. It is a challenge to make the meals interesting without using bread, potato, pasta or rice, but we both have lower blood sugar now, so onwards and upwards, it can only be good.
Have a good weekend all and take care

Morning (((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
Another bright and sunny morning, no fire lit, we are out this afternoon so its laid ready for when we come in.
I am rather concerned that my tiredness levels have ramped up again. Did not get out of bed until after 10am this morning. I cleared out and re laid the fire, was knackered so had to sit down for 15 minutes. I am going to go and see our lovely GP next week. Its 8 months since I got my pacemaker, should be feeling better by now.
Had my sons daughter on email yesterday, she wanted to know when we might get probate on her dads will, do not think she was too pleased when I told her it could take over a year and that she was the only one who would get cash straight off. I think the ex partner is putting pressure on her. Of course since Nick died her child support has stopped. I think that she thinks she is going to get her hands on cash for the two girls. I told DGD that money for her brother and the two girls would have to be put in trust until they are 18. Guess thats not what she wanted to hear....tough.....even then the mother can only draw on the interest if we (the trustees) think the request is reasonable and its not going to get spent on drink and drugs. We will need to see receipts too. She has to put any request in writing too. I know she is not going to be happy, but thats how it works. In law, it was set up specifically so any money for children under 18 is not squandered by the parent. Hey Ho, I am going to be the mother/grand mother from hell again......
OH is going to his history meeting this afternoon, I am meeting DD2 for coffee and will then collect OH from his meeting.0 -
Hello, been out to do a job, now back and having a drink before the inevitable pre-weekend tidy, pointless really, nobody else seems to mind, well the would if they couldn't find anything. Apologies for rather self-pitying moan.
Sub is shingle, oddly the weatherman in my tablet is convinced it is raining and the location is set to less than a mile away. I am leaving that strange sentence in, autogetitwrong has changed sun is shining to sub is shingle, I think that is quite odd but interestingly so.
Been to Mr sainsbugs where I bought some wine, some beansprouts and hot cross buns, but I keep thinking that when I was little, we were never allowed them until Good Friday. Also and not very moneysavingexpert, some ready made spring rolls which, if I am honest, I can make but the faff is not worth it on a busy day. We do tend to avoid ready prepared food but never mind. I will make fried rice, spare ribs and some form of chicken and a veg dish. I do enjoy cooking on my days off, have always enjoyed cooking and baking but it is only in the last few months that I have reduced from full time. Him indoors cooks when I am working.
I have been up since 4, simply because I needed the loo and it was cold getting out of bed and that woke me up so I decided to knit a zebra and some snakes. I am not tired but bet I will be later!
Really must get going, place looks frightful. And I have forgotten to empty the washing machine.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
i need a crow bar to get me out of this chair. I need to go and clean up the garden after the dogs. Didnt do it yesterday as it was raining all day.
If i leave it a bit longer, maybe it will rain....This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Morning all
Manic day yesterday with both DD's and 8 kids coming over, 2 DGC stayed over night and we have treated them to a pub lunch today and then took them home.
Poor DD, the landlord of the house she was renting has changed his mind, she has hired a van for a week, has paid thousands in legal fees as her house purchase fell through. She has paid 6 months rent up front paid legal fees on the rental house, went to collect the keys this morning only to be told, sorry you can't have the house, the landlord thinks he has a buyer for it! She has 3 foster children and 18 month old twins, she has to be out of her house in 6 days and now she has nowhere to go!
I'm going to have a nana nap now.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
