Hi Help Please

 Really confused. I am going to sell a large lot of new things on ebay one part of my business I dont have time for anymore and they are taking up space. However dont know the best way to go about I need to have a reserve as I dont want to loose too much money and thought maybe a BIN as well as auction but will it work out expensive in the long run? Do you think it would be better to break down into smaller lots? Would that work out cheaper. Been using ebay for a while now but still dont understand the prices they charge:o . Any help gratefully received. Many Thanks

i think it all depends on what you are selling. are the items heavy for instance, do you require postal insurance?

if you are going to sell a job lot are there items in the lot that are not worth bidding for.

you need to be a little more specific i thinks

  • Well its wedding stock all brand new and nothing they wouldnt want I wouldnt think:confused: Probably suitable for someone wanting to start a business or someone who has one. There are items like helium balloons, hen night things, wedding decs, etc, etc but all these items are in multiples thats why I wondered whether it would be better to break down. It wouldnt be too heavy but there is quite a lot of stuff so probably need a couple of boxes. Was thinking may put collection only but say ifthey wanted a quote I could get one. If it was posted would have to be signed for because of the value.

First off check previous sales and get an idea of how much they sell for.

Either list them as a job lot (probably not that profitable) or break them down into losts taht would be suitable for various sizes of weddings.

Forget reserves and star the auction at the minimum you are prepared to accept (possibly less a few pounds to attract interest) or if you can accurately value them on past sales start with a price +/-10-15% below a BIN price, (dangerous strategy if you are unsure of value)

If too heavy send by courier many on here use payperdrop (I have used them once) and they seem OK yhey are on EBa too. Collection only is a pain unless you are say 100 miles from seller so you would loose the vast majority of potential buyers going down tha route.

    Good luck.
