I agree it looks less user friendly than the old one. You'd need to compare it to it's competition though and it looks more modern than the Hoares one and the Coutts one looks very similar (as you'd expect).

What I don't like is the extra click needed to get to the online login page. Will be interesting to see what happens to the online part after the maintenance on Sunday.

Image is only part of why people use private banks - the availability of a relationship manager, the fact that you can speak to someone every minute of the year, the fact that they ring you almost immediately when they suspect you may have entered a payment twice, the fact they don't limit faster payments to £10k a day etc.

If the service isn't there then most of their customers would go elsewhere I suspect despite the existence of a great website.

Has your extensive research revealed any concerns by these customers about the website redesign? Or have you simply started a thread because you have taken a personal dislike to it, despite my suspicion that you are not and never will be a customer yourself (unless you win the lottery)?

No need to cast aspersions. I am entitled to my opinion, and that is all it is, and opinion.
  • I wouldn't want to pay £40 for use of a current account when there are far better alternatives out there!

We don't pay a penny for ours nor have a mortgage or investments with them. I have other accounts for the interest rates available but none come close to the level of service offered by a private bank particularly the ease of dealing with unusual / large transactions and the personal service if required.

I also think the Adam online offering is better than any of the others I use. Can't comment on mobile apps as I don't use them but Adam have one as well.
  • Fair enough Matty. If your not paying I can see the benefit. I am a customer of both Santander Select and Barclays Premier. The latter actually is very good and free. The former well not really tested the service.

So why bother to share it on here? It's not a money saving issue, and although you asked a question it's a fatuous one.

Thank you for your opinion, now kindly go away.

Premier and Select aren't proper Private Banking but rather tarted up retail banking.
