Victorian Plumbing - Never Again

I would never use Victorian Plumbing again

1) Bathtub ordered arrived with no legs, which i had to re-order, took over a week to arrive. By that time the builder put some blocks under the bath so the legs were useless by the time they arrived

2) Returned 3 items as we didn't like the colour of the item, it didn't really match the website. Only took the end bath panel out of the box to check the colour but as we didn't like it we decided to return it along with the same coloured WC Unit and the front bath panel, which were never taken out their boxes - come back to this later

3) Ordered another different 500mm WC Unit, however we were sent a 550mm WC Unit despite it saying on the website it was a 500mm. Informed Victorian Plumbing and asked them to send me 500mm asap as the builder was waiting. However it took 2 weeks to get back to me to say all the stock they had (40-50 of them) were 550 and if i wanted a 500 it would take 4-6 weeks as the maufacturer would have to make it. If i had known this i would have kept the returned 500mm unit as i really needed a 500 however this was already on the way back to them

4) Back to the returned items...2 of the items they received back were damaged. The same 2 items which were never opened. I wish i did check the 2 boxes before sending back but it was a big order with 9 items and i didn't want to damage the packaging by opening it up so decided to send it back unopened. Despite saying on their website it will take 7-10 days to process the return they got back to me on the 14th day at 17:09, the postage company i used who sent the items back via UPS told me UPS will not be filing a damage claim on the shipment as i didnt get back to them within 14 calendar days. This has led to me losing about £215. VP advised me that they got back to me within 7-10 working days...nowhere on their website does it say 7-10 working days...it just says 7-10 days...this to me means calender days as they are open on the weekends

I spoke to Victorian Plumbing but they were not having any of it, they said i should have opened all the boxes and checked the items inside out. I should have done this but they should have also checked my bathtub with its missing legs and the 550 unit which should have been a 500mm unit. If they had got back to me within the 7-10 days then i could have got something of UPS but UPS will not investigate as it passed the 14 calendar days. The returned WC Unit was chipped in the inside of the item there is no way this can happen via transit as there were no moving parts in the inside. This was probably sent to me like this as they do not check everything properly before sending it out. The large bath panel could have been damaged in transit as its a large item

This has been a complete nightmare as you have to wait a long time to get through to their customer services even if they tell you someone will ring you back by the end of the day they dont. They sometimes send you a email as they dont really want to speak to you.

Overall i spent over £1200 with them but that means nothing to them

If you do decide to use them and your order is coming via a pallet. Make the courier wait till you have checked all the items as they run off. This can be difficult as the pallet has alot of wrapping around it

  • Don't get mixed with Victoria Plumb, I think they are different companies.
    I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Today 17th March, I have had same issue. Legs missing from bath, damaged waste which I then had to buy elsewhere, just opened shower door panel and this is beyond any repair, I have been told I should have opened this and checked it. How can you open every item ? So spent a fortune with victorian plumbing yet they do nothing to resolve the matters. Will never use these again for any of my builds and I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere
  • Money taken in payment from my account at speed of light. Taps promised 2-7 days delivery, but still waiting despite eventually getting through ('you are 19th in the queue') to pleasantly useless staff ('it's going out tomorrow'; 'I'll expedite delivery at once').


    I will never use this company again.
