Actually a lot less than for a lot of Androids, and it's still a lot easier to permenantly kill an Android device simply by flashing the firmware.
Any phone can ultimately be killed if you do things you shouldn't or that you don't understand (or just have bad luck, if it's a Samsung that was afflicted by the eMMC superbrick bug).====0 -
And quite why you'd want to set your iPhone to January 1st 1970 is beyond me.
