Upgrading to Windows 10 and then going back to 7?

If you google for Windows 10 upgrade, you get the link to the appropriate (Microsoft) Windows 10 upgrade page.

Sure - it's just that a google search is easier than logging into MSE and looking through the tech threads, especially if you're on a PC you've just built with a throwaway version of Windows 7 or 8 you've put on there just to upgrade.

I navigated to the link,downloaded the upgrade.exe file,ran it and all it did was display the win 10 upgrade splashscreen telling me i could reserve my upgrade for after july 29th !

Check your computer hasn't gone back in time...otherwise suggest you upgrade from media (the above links all point to the same thing and walk you through creating DVD/USB to upgrade from).
