This may be a little of a naive question (but I'll ask anyway)... I assume I'll have to re-install any other software I've installed?Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

And this is progress? I always thought a computer was meant to save people time ... where did it all go so horribly wrong?... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0

box on right bottom of taskbar/all settings/ update and security/activation , should read that it has "digital entitlement" , this allows you to clean or swop the drive and reload a clean setup and just skip the insert ser No section
if you have backed up , or trying with a new drive , please use custom setup and delete all old partitionsSave a Rachael

OK, I ran updates on a number of machines over the weekend.
Going to Settings -> Updates -> Activation shows that Windows 10 is activated on the computer with a digital entitlement.
Apparently if you then do a fresh install of Windows 10 from scratch, you skip the licence key entry and it will pick up the entitlement.
I'm not sure what information it uses, but hopefully it's not the hard disk's details, as that's the most likely thing to be replaced over time.0 -
A friend has a win7 lappy. It is showing reserve win 10 upgrade which will be available after July29th . Its had all ins auto updates. How can i force the issue?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
