The GF is 27 - won't she assessed as an independent adult? Our household income wasn't taken into account when our son went to uni as a mature student.0 -
She was going to university regardless of knowlege of money etc... nothing was stopping her, and why should it?
No reason at all
£9K tuition fees
Roof over her head
Mney to eat
Money for books
Hopefully she's a bit more savvy than you are about it all.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Apologies I missed this, however the term Household income still roughly applies.
Independent students will still need to be means tested.
The guaranteed bit upto 65% they will get but for remainder needs to be means tested.
This is either the individuals income or the individual and their partners income, depending on their situation.0 -

As the two people involved are still living at home with their respective parents, presumably it would only be the GF's income that was taken into account?0 -

As the OP will be living with his GF, whilst she studies, his income will be used to assess her eligibility. Once you live with someone, who you are in a relationship with, you are no longer classed a being an independent student0
