Average life cycle span of purchasing a property

Ok lets say that a property research company does a poll from 1000 property purchasers.
It took 1 guy 2 days to buy a property and move in!
It took another person 2.6 years!
On the whole after weighing up the all the other responses, the average life span was 6.7 months.
So whilst the use of that result may or may not be useful for someone (that is subjective), that's what I'm looking for.
Hope that makes sense!

It does - at first I thought you were asking "how long is a piece of string?" Now I understand you're actually asking "what's the average length of several pieces of string?"

You're getting warmer, Timmy. "What was the average timeframe from a poll of 1000 people (for eg) to purchase a piece of string."0 -
Are you an American?
If yes, are you in America?
If no, are you in America?0 -
The average lifespan of a human is xx years.
Now there are many variables and factors that contribute to this. BUT still there is an average.
Thanks to all who replied!!0 -
There is an average to many things. In my local supermarket the average price of each item sold might be £1.47p. But of what use would that be?
If this is a school project you are likely to get an F for wanton misuse of statistics.
(If you don't, your professor should)

Actually I am creating a digital product that will significantly speed up the decision making process for budding property investors.
So I'm putting together a business plan for this product.
Whilst my product can't control the time it takes to deal with the formalities (legal stuff etc), I can hopefully create a tool that assists in the decision making of finding the golden eggs in a sea of properties out there.
So within the business plan, it would be great to understand what kind of timeframes it generally takes.0 -
