  • Quick update from me. Have exchanged emails with the CS team at Curve, must say they are very helpful. They confirm that my card will be posted 'in March'. Will keep you posted.

Same info here, they are very helpful!

Replied to my email saying they are aware of the issues I was having, and hope to fix soon....

Then replied a few days later confirming it had been fixed! :T
  • I purchased as well. With the save 10 GBP link on Imagine Curve Facebook page, it could make the blue card down to 25 GBP and black card down to 65 GBP with a free card holder at the moment! (don't know if I'm allow to share the link here)

One thing that can help is to go through T&C. In there is you are the top tier you could basically do a lot. I wish they will provide us with more info about how to go through the checking process. And seems using Amex with Curve could sure benefit us.
  • Same here. They confirmed the black card will be mid to late March! (Also they have an update email today too saying it will be in late March)
I got my Coin card but never get to use a UK bank card on it. So I really hope to see Curve to do it right with us! So my bunch of cards can really become one!

Does this mean you can't request this unless you are self employed or running a business?

Why don't you try registering and see what the current state of play is? When I tried, I was told the two criteria were 1. Self-employed 2. iOS user, but that was a couple of weeks ago, things may have changed.

I appreciate that, what checks will be done to confirm you're self employed?

I see that bit now (after a bit more reading); if, for example, you're buying petrol and have a high cashback card for that, you need to get your phone out, open the app and move your 'petrol CC' into operation, all before you get to the desk.

That's fine if there's a data signal. Looks like this may take a little forethought to operate successfully.

How would the Petrol CC company know that the payment is for petrol?

I would presume that all transactions are traceable and there is a code for every items sold, including petrol.
  • I think the key is the Virgin Airmiles example - If you get SPECIFIC BOOSTED cashback for a purchase (e.g. 3% petrol, 2% McDonalds and 1% everything else). ALL purchases at the higher rates (petrol and McDs) would be tracked at the lower rate as the whole idea is the actual card provider (e.g. Santander) WON'T know what it is.

That is preciously how & why ATM withdrawals are expected to work.

If you get a boost for certain things, use your normal card. If you have something like an Aqua card where it's 0.5% on everything, then you can just not worry.

If you have tiered rates my understanding is you won't be able to go via Curve AND have it track as the tiered purchase.

Whether they want to change that based on feedback will be interesting - because banks will then demand to know about ATM withdrawals/foreign exchange etc - the very thing Curve is preventing you being charged from on a 'standard' credit/debit card
