I've just done 5 pages of spam duty. Looks like the tactics are changing, the posts are getting really long - so it takes longer to scroll down to the spam button. I agree limiting how many posts newbies can make might help. Hope the techno bods are up early!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Competition Time, Site Feedback and Marriage, Relationships and Families boards. It does. It sounds bizarre, but it does.

The big things that you need to remember are that every time a spam thread is opened, it is boosted up the search engine ratings and also that this is not the first time that MSE forums have been attacked like this, there have been dozens (if not hundreds) of similar attacks.
You guys on the comps board are just seeing it for the first time.0 -

If we don't open them and report them as spam will they still get removed?
They are annoying now!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -

As said on the other thread, that is not really true.
Thread views by us are either not taken in account by search not/algorithms, or if they are are only a very minimal component.
By far the biggest part is the number of distinct appearance in separate links, which is one reason why they mass spam like this with multiple threads and users.
Anyway, clicking spam on them is far better than just leaving them, and doesn't aid the spammer at all.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
