Aww, bless - some of my canine guests are very concerned if I'm having to lie down for a bit; one of them, Jasper, one time climbed up on the sofa with me and sprawled out on top of me, full-length. It was really sweet.:o
Hope you're feeling a bit better today; I agree about getting OH to drive, no sense in taking risks if you're not up to it.

Mr LW gave me a fright yesterday; he'd called to say he was on his way home, then half an hour later I got another call; he'd had an accident and was waiting for the RAC to come and rescue him.:eek::eek:
Thankfully he's unscathed, and all that's wrong with the car is a burst tyre - transpires that an oncoming driver's headlights dazzled him as he was entering one of those horrid "traffic-calming" chicane things, and he clipped the island with the front wheel, bursting the tyre. He's shaken up, though. Anyways, he's working from home today, and got a mobile repair chappie coming this afternoon to fit a new tyre.

Think the girls would be up on the sofa with me if OH wasn't at home, trouble is our sofa is very light grey colour and they are both chocolate brown. Got over to see Bill, gave him a carrot, tiny groom and loads of cuddles but feel completely pooped now.
Thank goodness it was only a tyre but scary all the same.

Oh MrsLW -what a fright you must have both had! I'm pleased that all is well with him.

Today has been much more peaceful than yesterday and the weather was lovely and bright until the early afternoon. I made it into the flooring shop and ordered the minute piece of lino and fitting. The lino was on offer but the fitting wasn't. I consoled myself with a drive to the sea lock of the canal and a little walk along the tow path. I need to back into the relaxation of walking. My little fitness machine recorded 5,000 steps so I'm halfway there!

My friend's funeral has been set for late next week so I guess there's a queue for the crem at Clydebank. No PM as he was ill for a long while.

My new cover for my tablet arrived and I hate it. I misread PU leather for leather... serves me right.

I'm enjoying reading about dog walking. As you may remember I've been toying with the idea of getting a dog, however I think I've decided to wait a while. I'm still travelling a lot (for pleasure rather than business now) and then I stopped to talk to a neighbour yesterday who was out walking her four dogs in the pouring rain. She was wearing full length coat, bucket hat and wellies and had water dripping off everything - just miserable. And, as she said 'it has to be done'. I'm in such awe of those able to make such a commitment as I'm sure I'd just open the back door for three minutes!

    Teatime now.

Just passing through and so enjoyed the wedding stories. I hired everything. Long , very plain white, wild silk dress with a l o n g train, pearl encrusted circlet holding a long, long veil. I even hired the white shoes, (I would never wear white shoes normally), and afterwards my mother packed the whole shebang into a box and sent it back. The whole thing cost me £17.
It was a lovely wedding on the hottest day of the year with the reception in a friend's beautiful garden. It was all downhill from there.

I'm probably weird, but I actually quite enjoy taking the pooches out in the rain. I borrow Mr LW's waterproof gear, and if I've got Spaniels or Labs staying, we have a great time (these breeds seem to love the wet). The only weather I really, really dislike is snow, as I can't use the mobility buggy in that, because it'd suck the snow into the motor and wreck it. So if it's snowy, exercise has to be confined to the back garden. And (ok definitely weird) I quite like the smell of Damp Dog.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Mrs LW how awful for you I know how you feel. DD and my son-in-law and I and the three boys had a nice day out at Canterbury, then lunch and as it was so cold we drove along to Hastings.

I went and had a coffee and the rest of them went on the small funfair then we all met back at the cafe.
Hot chocolates all round and set off back home. Coming up the A21 home I had to stop fairly quickly as an animal run in front of me, and the chap behind me didn't and whacked into the back of my car. No one was hurt ,apart from the cars.his probably a bit worse than mine as he did try at least to swerve away and clipped my back passenger side light and done a bit of bodywork damage. Still I phoned my insurance company when I got home around 7p.m. and its getting collected tomorrow and repaired and I get a courtesy car

Well done LV brilliant service and no hassle whatsoever.Very good customer service chap as well and was concerned that we were all OK. I can't recommend them highly enough

Blooming nuisance, but accidents are exactly that. The other driver wasn't happy, but then he hit me and not the other way round. Insurance company will sort it all that's the main thing.

Just Face-timed DD in New York and told her and she wasa bit concerned but I told her we were all OK, and only poorly cars not people which are easily repairable.

My cousin in Perth Australia phoned this morning and she is coming over in Septmber and also my other cousin in winnipeg so it will be another long weekend family gathering in Brechin Scotland again in September. More holidays trips to look forward to.

its been an eventful day altogether, Just going to bed for a read now
Night night god Bless all here
