    Welcome Rebeccalavel,
Sounds like great scores. How they translate into score depends on how everyone else has done. If you look at the old forums some of the posting by previous parents may help. If your daughter is up there in the top 20% of her class then she'll probably get a great score.

I notice Peter Weir has explicitly stated that schools are permitted to prepare children for the tests, now...
  • We did our first aqe paper as a practice today, got 81%, top score in the class was 88%
  • My son did his first two AQE papers in school this week. Hope he's not peaked too early, he got 94% and 97%. I know he's a capable boy and he was chuffed to bits. Long may it continue!

Brilliant results. Looks like you have nothing to worry about there.

Following the announcement that schools are allowed to prepare the kids - our school is doing 2 a week in school. Before that it was one in school and other at home. Pleased that both tests are in school. Will only do a little extra at home at weekend. Afraid to peak too early.
  • I would never withdraw kids from their sports its all about time management my daughter does 3 tests a week plus all her homeworks and manages to still look after her pony every day even with a broken arm but i guess everyone is different
  • Thanks everyone. Shes really pleased. Are anyone elses little one doing the gl? We're quite lucky that her choices take gl or both so only need to sit the one.
  • Hi all - was last here 2 years ago on the AQE 2014 forum. Second DD has gone into P6 this year so maybe this is the wrong forum (is this just for the ones doing the tests this year?) I'll hang around and any answers that I can. Interesting that Peter Weir has said that all Primary Schools can now address specific transfer test teaching. Possibly too late for those doing the tests this year, but will effect this years P6. Not getting political here, just wondering if any other parents have an opinion.
  • Hope he's not peaked too early, he got 94% and 97%

    Hi Mumof3boysNI

Good test results :) - Only thing I can suggest is to warn against complacency. On the day, pressure is on etc. I understand that some head teachers talk about 'peaking'. There are still a couple of months before the real thing this year - maybe give your son a "pat on the back" and ask how he feels about the tests?
  • I also have a p6 child and a year 8. I heard the school was only doing 1 test a week last May/ June for p6. I think they were trying to reduce AQE prep in school so let's hope this announcement will make them go full steam ahead for my son in p6 this year.
