Toilet cistern plastic...name please!

Hi..have just replaced ballcock / arm and other bits. The small right angled plastic filter that the water fills through keeps coming off...water drips down cistern....when lid is off...sprays all over. What is this bit called?....I think it has a lip that , when turned...catches the blue plastic nut to retain it....? thanks.

If you have time to go into a plumbers merchants go in with some pictures. When I needed to replace a part out the cistern I just took some photos and found the local shop very helpful. They sold me the correct part and gave me clear instructions. I was very happy - a plumbing repair for a few £s

I would suggest you fit one of these, depending on whether the water comes in from the bottom of the cistern:

Fluidmaster Brass Shank Bottom Entry Fill Valve

or the side:

Fluidmaster Brass Shank Side Entry Fill Valve

you will need to replace it with a new valve, as there are so many makes on the market. Get one with a brass inlet if poss. As posted above, but a picture would help.

The bit on top of the blue nut. I like the look of the device you recommend ....does this get rid of the drips and other probs? thanks.

Wealroams valve might fit, it depends on how how space you have between the syphon and cistern.
You could use screwfix Product Code: 7356F

Get the one above, turn off water, undo the blue nut on the right and fit the new one to that, make sure you fit the seals.
