Feeling cheated buying a new house

Is this the elephant in the room?
That was what caught my attention.
That and the fact that a FTB has some very very high expectations of perfection. Whatever happened too buying a cheap wreck and putting your stamp on it? If they're unhappy about paying over the odds for a new box made of ticky-tacky, then don't.Been away for a while.0 -
You have to deal with the consequences of your own decision.0

Prostitution is also apparently exempt from a cooling off period.
I'd even kept the receipt.

If the house is now unsuitable because you were planning on living there with your ex, and now have more space than you need, could you consider getting a lodger?0

Yeah, but if you've made a deposit....0 -
More than anything, this sounds like a combination of buyers remorse and splitting-up pains combined. All in all, you've got a passably reasonable house for a passably reasonable price. Having a few extras thrown in may make you feel good for a while, but then you are back to having the basic bricks and mortar.
Give yourself a few months to settle in and calm down, and you'll probably view things rather differently. After all, your neighbours also bought in to those houses.0 -

This is what I'd suggest, along with getting the snagging issues sorted with the builder.0 -
To quote John Milton:The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.
Your house is awesome; go in with that attitude and it won't be so bad after a spell.0
