I had a notice stuck to my screen today after parking at Mcdonalds.

I went to the post office next door to draw cash out as i don't really like using my bank card in shops and went straight in and bought some breakfast. Came out to find a notice stuck to my windscreen with the reason 'driver/owner left premises' This all happened in the space of 7 minutes. I went back in and got the girl to print me a receipt out, she just shrugged when i told her what had happened!

Walked past later on there were 3 of them waiting at the car park entrance - (safety in numbers?) pretty sneaky behaviour i thought! I read somewhere they are on the verge of being banned from the DVLA im not surprised!!

Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then appeal using the BPA template in blue from that thread about day 25. Copy and paste the appeal exactly as it is, nothing added and nothing taken away.
In parallel, complain to the manager of mucky dees and/or the CEO that you will become an instant ex-customer if this ticket isn't cancelled.

You have plenty of time to research this so don't appeal until you have done some reading and understand how to beat this scam with a two stage appeal.

Do not pay, do not ignore, do not reveal who was driving, do not miss the appeal deadline, never 'phone a parking scumpany.

UKPC are on thin ice as you have already heard. They were caught doctoring time stamps on photo's, so that is something you should point out to muckdonald's management.

The law changed when the Protection of Freedom Act (POFA) 2012 came into force, outlawing clamping but making the vehicle keeper liable when the driver's details aren't known.
Consequently "ignore" has been bad advice for several years.

I've just sent a scathing email to McDonald's customer service pointing out UKPC's sneaky practices. I swear he must have been hiding behind a tree as he was nowhere to be seen, and its only a small car park with about 15 spaces.

Just looking at the template appeal for BPA members, is that the right one? Do I wait until they contact me?

    Thanks :)

That sticky has been read so many times, imagine all the people that has helped :)

So no need to wait for them to get details off the DVLA? Am I best emailing it through their website? I'm not the registered keeper and he is saying just pay it, I've had to hide it in case he does!!

Tell the RK that you're not going to pay a speculative invoice, period, and that he should stop being a wuss. Tell him that if he'd like you to appeal it in his name and deal with it all then you're happy to do so, otherwise you'll just leave it and then he can deal with it once the PPC have got HIS details from DVLA. Then HE can pay it if he wants to, but YOU are not.

Then point him to this forum and to PP's blog. :)
