Amyone know anything about Range ovens?

When I (eventually) get my lovely new kitchen, I would like a stainless steel range oven (can't be more than 900mm wide). I don't know much about ranges...in fact I know absolutely nothing! Can anyone recommend a good make..are they all gas powerered? I presume you would buy the extractor hood with the oven itself. £1k is…

We got a Britannia Range, think the cheapest is towards the top end of your budget, but we have had no problems in the two years we have had our range cooker.
