Morrisons online products out of stock

New to this forum so apologies for any mistakes made.
I have just had a hour long chat online with a Morrisons rep in their live chat facility on line.
My complaint was that I registered an account, went and made purchases and put them in my basket.
I then proceeded to check out and it put me onto a delivery date.
When I booked a delivery date it said product out of stock!!
I went back on the Web site and placed the order again because it did not say it was out of stock there.
Yet again upon delivery it said out of stock.
I chatted to the rep on line and he brushed me off with terms and conditions.
I said that it was missing leading putting a product on line which is clearly available at that point but when you go to delivery options it is out of stock.
I took snap shot pictures of all transactions and messages with the rep.
How do I stand in receiving the online offer if it's still available to purchase but out of stock for delivery?

It might simply be that it is out of stock in your area, the depot that will be despatching your order. I've only ever used Morrisons online delivery once with no such issue, but have had the same experience with both Tesco and Asda, where the items are available in some areas but not in others.

Morrisons got back to me and offered me a £10 voucher off my next over £60 shop on line.
They said it was a Web error and the product was not available and also wrongly priced.
I said that's not my fault I have taken a screen shot on my phone of the product available for that price and placed my order on the basket, then checked out to delivery.
If the product is not available it should not be on the site or even have it saying out of stock if they are going to leave it advertised.
It's still advertised now as we speak.
  • I shop online with Morrisons and always book the delivery slot before shopping; I don't want to waste time putting things in the trolley to find they cannot deliver.

Re your problem, I find doing the booking first it is clear what is in and out of stock. Like others have said maybe it is just out of stock in your area

They don't have to sell to you at the price they list until the contract is formed and accepted.

So before you go down the 'I have screenshots' and 'proof' and 'you must sell me it' line, they don't have to.

You'd only have a valid complaint if they took your money and then failed to deliver it. You were informed it was out of stock (at least in your particular area) prior to payment and so you are lucky they offered the £10 voucher.

I doubt the online offer price you are demanding they honour would net you more than £10, so what's the problem?

Mountain and molehill spring to mind.
  • You should also note that come the day of delivery certain items may well be out of stock or prices may have changed from the original date of ordering (which is clearly stated in their Terms and Conditions), or they may substitute items, which you will be informed of by the driver, and you will have the option to either accept or reject the item(s). Overall, there is never 100% guarantee that any item will be available on the date of delivery, regardless of what it says on the website when ordering.

Then why still advertise it on the site at the offer price. Why not just say out of stock. It's misleading the public.
They could put everything on saying half price to get you to view the site and buy something but then you only get what they want you to buy!!

When you try to buy something from Amazon, if it's out if stock then it still advertises the product maybe available later but temporarily out of stock sign on the goods!!!!
    False advertising and misleading

A fair bit of faulty logic there. There is no conspiracy to make you buy. Indeed, you can choose to buy nothing at all even at the final checkout.

You don't have a valid complaint and, despite this, you've been compensated regardless.

If you prefer that manner of presentation then shop at Amazon.

There is no "false advertising" and Morrisons have already compensated you anyway

    Time to let this go.
