Judgement on File

Hello
My husband has just just sent for a credit report from Experian.
We had a judgement from a Utility Co. The Judgement date was 15/8/08 and satisfied on 30/7/2009. The judgement has now "dropped off" my credit report & also my husbands in 2015 (They were under Public Information)
But on my husbands (not mine) credit report it is still showing under Financial Associations. So obviously any lender etc can still see we have had a judgement registered against us.
I cannot see the point of having a judgement "dropping off" to help clear the credit record when it still shows under the heading "Financial Associations"
Also when do so-called-financial associations get removed off your credit file if they ever do?
Thanks

Hi Pam56,
I understand your concern, the entry that remains on your report, is a record of the financial connection that has been recorded as a result of the judgment, rather than a record of the judgment itself.
Usually financial associations remain on a report until we are told that they are no longer relevant, and we can then financially disassociate you from the other person.
When an association recorded due to a judgment we can remove it once the judgment has been removed.
If your husband contacts us with his details we can arrange this for him.
Kind regards

This, of course, is a major failing of the credit reporting industry. They maintain financial associations even when it is clear that no association exists. OP, you should ask the ICO why they let the CRAs get away with this. It's a long shot, because the ICO and their so-called data protection principles are mired in obfuscation, but you should give it a go.0
