    Yep, used to be a common wheeze, buy the cheapest thing to insure and park it up and then buy something you really wanted and put that in a family members name and drive using your DOC cover which never mentioned about having the other car insured.

    You just needed 1 days cover to tax it.


    If you add them to your insurance dont forget they can affect your no claims. Are they a safe driver?


    Oh yes, he's safe he can drive a wagon-thank you for replies I will be reading his policy with fine tooth comb tonight x

    If his policy covers him it will only be 3rd party for your car as already mentioned. If its a cheap car and you can go and purchase another then thats OK.

    If its something that costs a bit more then adding them to your policy would be my choice.
