Though as per the link above, UK customs do seize fakes coming into the country. Presumably this could apply to individuals carrying items as well as items ordered by post?

The French/Italian rules are frightening, a 10,000 Euro fine for buying a handbag or a pair of sunglasses:eek: Many years ago my wife bought a handbag on a market stall for £10 or so, when we got home someone commented on her "really expensive" bag, only then did she find out it was a designer brand that usually retailed for over £1000!!

Not being a "fashion victim" she didn't have a clue it was an expensive brand that was obviously priced way too low to be the real thing. But it seems the French & Italians really expect everyone to be brand aware and be able to tell that an item is a fake expensive brand.

At least it's now an excuse not to waste holiday time shopping
