So its all freely available information but he created a PP slideshow with links to it?

Still trying to grasp what he is protecting and how much of the work is his?

If he went to his boss and said i can cut your training costs and then show them the clip on his device, is it something they can then google and get the same content that he is using without giving him credit?

If the presentation is online in any format then its usually quite easy to rip it off.

Big movie companies spend a fortune on encryption and look where it gets them.
Essentially the presentation provides a full training programme for a certain aspect of the job role that the company has.

Yes they could access this information, but currently they don't have the ability to do as an all in one, or within a safe environment i.e. without using the live system.

The presentation provides the ability to fully train someone without a) them having to be supervised on the live system, b) without limit to the number of users, and c) without them having to be trainer led.

So whilst the company obviously has access to the information it is not currently packaged in this way,and the way it is currently delivered is not time/cost effective.

We don't want to say too much at this time, but possibly a webpage may not be the way to go.

    Thanks for the advice.

Does it need to be a show, or is it the content that's important? If the latter, then just save the Powerpoint as a PDF and distribute that.

If we knew how to distribute digital content in a way that guaranteed nobody could steal it, we wouldn't be typing answers on MSE - we'd be taking baths in champagne with the money that Sony Pictures and Dreamworks would throw at us :)

Is Powerpoint even the right tool for this? Should he be using a proper elearning development appliction like Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate?

Unsure if you / your friend need to keep this as a presentation, i.e. affirmative clicks when someone wants to move on etc but....

one option might be to record it using CamStudio either in it's entirety or in sections, creating MP4 file(s), and use the CamStudio feature to add a copyright 'watermark'.
